If you want to give something made in Berks County, there's enough here to cover everyone on your list: cutting boards from Mohnton, soap from West Reading, honey from Wyomissing and Kutztown, pretzels from Shillington, candy from Temple, perfume from Boyertown. Below are the makers with their posted prices and where to buy, and if you'd rather walk into a shop, gift shops in Berks County lists the county's gift shops, chains and independents, by town.

This isn't a ranking, and nobody paid for a place. A thing is here because its maker's own page says it's made in a Berks County town; the prices are each maker's own, as posted, as of 2026, and where a maker prints no price I've said so and told you where to ask. The makers sit in no particular order.

Cutting boards, from Timber Lane Handcrafted in Mohnton.

The Everyday boards are each hand-shaped from a single piece of solid Pennsylvania hardwood in the woodworking shop at 1540 Alleghenyville Road in Mohnton. The black walnut Everyday board is $59, and the range runs from $30 for a 12-inch walnut board up to $225 for a 40-inch live-edge walnut board. Cheese knives are $15 and spatulas $20.

The gift boxes run $95 to $119: the Home and Hearth Box is $95, the Grazing Box $109 and the Crafted Kitchen Box $119. You can order online or shop at the Timber Lane Mercantile at the same address, which holds a Black Friday shopping event on Friday, November 27.

Handmade soap, from Muddy Creek Soap Company in West Reading.

The soaps and bath goods are made in West Reading and sold at 608 Penn Avenue, and the bars are the easy stocking gift: most $6 to $8, a few $10, with the 4-ounce Blue Lotus bar at $6, lavender at $7 and the beer soap at $8. Shampoo bars are $11.95, bath bombs $8.95 and the whipped shea butter $15. A $25 gift box or a $60 gift basket does the choosing for you, and the bars, boxes and baskets are sold online as well as in the shop.

The shop is open Tuesday to Saturday 10 to 5 and Sunday 10 to 2, and it stays open until 8 on the second Friday and third Thursday of the month.

Raw honey, from Berks Bees in Wyomissing.

This honey comes from the maker's own hives in Wyomissing, harvested from late spring to early fall, so the jars come in three shades: blonde spring, mid-summer and dark fall. A 1-pound jar is $15, with a $1 credit when you bring the jar back. It's local pickup only in Wyomissing; you order by text or email and pay in cash, Venmo or PayPal. The seasonal varieties sometimes sell out, so ask early.

Honey and honeycomb, from Herman's Honeycomb in Kutztown.

Herman's Honeycomb is the shop of Danenhower Apiaries, which has kept bees in Kutztown since 1972 and sells online from 249 Dietrich Valley Road. A 1-pound bottle of honey, the kind that stands on its cap, is posted at $8. The honeycomb, $13 to $15, is the maker's best seller, and both sizes were out of stock in early November, so check the shop page first. Orders of $100 and up ship free.

Pretzel gift tins, from Tom Sturgis Pretzels in Shillington.

The pretzels are made in the factory at 2267 Lancaster Pike in Shillington, and the retail store at the factory is open Monday to Saturday 8:30 to 5:30. The Sweet and Salty Pretzel Assortment large tin is 3 pounds for $68.95; the large tin of Little Ones pretzels is $47.95 and the Bite Size gift tote $35.50. Those are the regular prices; a 10 percent pre-holiday sale on the site runs through November 15. Standard ground shipping is included to street addresses in the continental United States; Alaska, Hawaii and post office boxes cost more, and the tins don't ship abroad.

Small-batch soda, from Reading Soda Works in Reading.

The sodas are handcrafted in small batches at 640 Gregg Avenue, in classic flavors and a botanical line: blueberry lavender, herbal berry, peach basil, strawberry mint lemongrass. Cases are priced at the shop. Members of the soda club, which picks a flavor each month, pay $10.75 a case for the regular flavors and $12.50 for the botanicals. The retail shop is open Monday to Friday 9 to 5 and Saturday 9 to 2, and it also sells handcrafted goods from local and regional makers, with every dollar of profit on those going to local nonprofits.

Handmade candy, from Billy's Homemade Candies in Temple.

Billy's has made candy by hand in Temple since 1935, at 4949 Kutztown Road. The mixed 1-pound assorted gift box is posted at $27. You can buy in the Temple store or order online.

Small-batch perfume, from HENNY FAIRE Co. in Boyertown.

The perfume is blended in small batches in a Boyertown studio and sold online. Limited-batch perfume sprays, Cidre and Hallows among them, are $45, limited-edition solid perfumes are $30, and a seasonal fragrance subscription box is $75. The studio also runs blend-your-own perfume sessions.

Gift boxes of Berks goods, from A Box of Berks in Blandon.

A Box of Berks has been putting together gift boxes since 2017, and the contents are bought from small businesses in and near Berks County; Tom Sturgis, Reading Soda Works and Unique Snacks are among the suppliers. The Reading Pagoda box is $35, the Knitting Mills box $150, and a Nifty Thrifty box starts at $15. The 5th Avenue box, $55, holds chocolate-covered pretzels, brownies, chocolate biscotti, nonpareils, chocolates, chocolate mint tea bags and chocolate-dipped Oreos.

Holiday sleighs, buckets and specialty boxes are available from November 1. It delivers Monday to Thursday (it ships or delivers; ask where it delivers) and sells at holiday markets, including the Schoolhouse Shops Holiday Market in Leesport on December 13.

More Berks makers, from meats to glass.

A few more makers say plainly where the thing is made; some print prices online and the rest price at the shop, so these are a visit or a call away. Dietrich's Meats & Country Store in Krumsville, at 660 Old US 22, is where you go for Pennsylvania Dutch gifts for the table: scrapple, dried beef, liver pudding and souse, plus smoked hams and fresh or smoked poultry for the holidays, with free samples. Prices are at the counter, it takes no credit or debit cards, and it's open seven days, 7 to 6 on weekdays, 8 to 5 Saturday and 9 to 4 Sunday, closed New Year's Day, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas, and closing at 4 on Christmas Eve.

Taylor Backes in Boyertown, at 150 S Washington Street, makes glass, holiday ornaments and glass pumpkins among it, priced in its online shop, and the studio is open every day. For a bottle, Manatawny Creek Winery crafts its wine on-site at 227 Levengood Road in Douglassville and is open daily. Ridgewood Winery, LLC makes its wines in Berks County and has tasting rooms in Birdsboro and Bechtelsville. Manatawny sells online as well, Ridgewood has an online shop, and the county's other wineries are in the best wineries in Berks County. Griesemer Beekeeping LLC in Robesonia sells raw honey from its own Berks County bees in 1-pound jars, priced on its product page, and Unique Snacks, a Reading pretzel maker, ships free to street addresses in the lower 48, with prices on its shop page.

Frequently asked questions.

What counts as made in Berks County?

For this list, the maker's own page has to say the thing is made in a Berks County town: shaped, blended, batched or baked here, not just sold here. A Box of Berks is on the list as a box curated from Berks makers' goods, bought in and near the county, so the box is the thing made here, not necessarily every item inside it.
