The Asa Packer Mansion is an 1861 Victorian mansion museum in Jim Thorpe, PA, the home of philanthropist, railroad magnate and Lehigh University founder Asa Packer.

Docent-led tours take in 18 rooms and about 11,000 square feet of a cast-iron-framed house designed by Samuel Sloan, open to the public since Memorial Day 1956 and a National Historic Landmark since 1985, and 2026 added extended third-floor tours. On Fall Foliage Festival weekends in October the tours shorten to 30 minutes and leave every half hour, and Olde Time Christmas tours fill the first two weekends of December.

Before you go

Walk in for small parties; groups of 15 or more must reserve at (570) 325-3229. Cash and credit cards, no personal checks. No photos, video or audio recording on the tour. On October Fall Foliage weekends tours are 30 minutes and tickets are first come, first served.
