Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway is a tourist train ride from the station in Jim Thorpe, PA, run by the Reading & Northern Railroad along the Lehigh River into Lehigh Gorge State Park.

The narrated 16-mile round trip follows the Lehigh River through the gorge to Old Penn Haven, past Glen Onoko at the southern gateway to Lehigh Gorge State Park, in coaches the railroad says Bethlehem Steel built in 1932, open-air cars or a dome car. Autumn Leaf trains run daily through November 15, 2026, and Santa rides with treats for the children start November 27.

Before you go

Buy ahead online (sales close at midnight the night before) and pick up tickets at the station window; same-day tickets are sold only at the booth. Arrive an hour early; all parking in Jim Thorpe is run by Carbon County, not the railway. Trains run in any weather; well-behaved pets ride free.
