Jenkins Arboretum & Gardens is a free public garden on 48 acres of woodland in Devon, PA, open every day of the year.
Admission is always free and the gardens are open daily, so it works as a short stop or a slow afternoon on paved, wood chip and turf paths through 48 acres of woods and gardens. The plant collections are accredited, spring brings the azalea bloom, and winter shows the architecture of the trees. Kids get the Explorer Garden nature play space, and there is a garden shop and an education center on the grounds.
Before you go
Dogs and other pets are not allowed (service animals welcome). Stay on the paved, wood chip and turf paths. Picnic in the designated spots on the Tree Canopy Deck and in the picnic grove. No bikes, scooters, sports gear, tripods or drones. Parking is limited; groups over 15 should call ahead.

Fall golf cart garden tours run October 14 at 11 a.m., and a photo walk is October 17, 9 to 11 a.m. ($20 to $30, registration required).
