Longwood Gardens is a botanical garden in Kennett Square, PA, with historic conservatories, fountain gardens and nearly 200 acres open to the public.

The Main Fountain Garden runs 1,719 jets in daytime shows and illuminated evening performances, the Open Air Theatre fountains add 750 more, and the conservatories change with the season: the Chrysanthemum Festival fills them from mid-October to mid-November, then A Longwood Christmas runs daily until 11 pm from November 20 to January 10. Allow at least three to four hours; parking is free.

Before you go

Timed tickets are required; buy ahead (tickets can be exchanged in advance but are not refundable). Outside food is not allowed except water, and pets stay home. For A Longwood Christmas, Mondays to Thursdays and earlier in the day are the quieter times. Wheelchairs are free to borrow.
