The ride is behind a working steam locomotive, 4.5 miles to Paradise and back past what the railroad counts as more than 2,500 acres of Lancaster County farmland, with a pause at the end of the line while the engine uncouples and recouples. You can step off at Groff's Grove or Leaman Place Grove along the way, or book the dining car or a first class parlor car. A picnic grove, playground, Cafe 1832 and a toy store are at the station.
Before you go
Pre-reserve tickets online and arrive 10 to 15 minutes before departure. Parking is on site near the station; special events may use remote lots with a free shuttle. Trains run rain or shine. Strollers, food and water are fine aboard; only service animals ride.
