Art History Short Course
October 20, 2026 · 1:30 PM · Reading Public Museum, 500 Museum Rd

About the event
The Reading Public Museum opens its galleries for an afternoon of art history, part of a four week short course led jointly by Scott Schweigert, Curator of Art and Civilizations, and Geoff Fleming, Executive Director and CEO. Two perspectives in one room means you get both the close looking of a curator and the wider view of someone who shapes how a collection is shown.
The setting gives the material plenty to draw from. The Museum's European, American, and Modern & Contemporary galleries hold works spanning the fifteenth century to the present day by European and American artists, with artists such as Picasso, Monet, Renoir, Warhol, Degas, and Rodin represented.
The session begins at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. Specific topics for the course are still being announced, so watch the Museum for those details. Individual sessions and the full four week course are both available, which makes this a comfortable fit whether you want a single afternoon or a longer stretch of learning close to home.
Hosted by Reading Public Museum on BerksConnect.
