About the event

Spend a Sunday afternoon at the Daniel Boone Homestead making a Williamsburg-inspired holiday wreath you can hang indoors or out. Working on a 14-inch grapevine base, you will combine fresh pine with harvested herbs, dried apple slices, ribbon, and other natural materials, following the instructors' example or arranging your own design. All supplies are included.

The class is led by Greg Geesaman and Peggy Allen-Geesaman of Heritage Art and Craft Studio. Greg brings a long background in American history, gardening, agriculture, and environmental preservation, while Peggy, a Berks County native and longtime art and craft teacher, focuses on traditional American crafts and is a member of the Historical Society of Early American Decoration. Alongside the wreath making, they will share how herbs are grown, harvested, and dried, and how to gather natural materials close to home.

The workshop is hosted by the Daniel Boone Homestead Associates, and proceeds support the Homestead itself. It is a hands-on, small-group session, so you will have plenty of room to ask questions and take your finished wreath home the same afternoon.
