WhereReading Coffee Company, 316 W Main Street, Birdsboro

Reading Coffee Company hosts a hands on pour over workshop at its Birdsboro shop, led by Beverage Director John Cappelletti. The evening starts with a look at the equipment, then moves into pour over technique, the mistakes that most often trip people up, and how each variable shapes what ends up in the cup.

From there it is mostly brewing. The group works through a number of coffees together and takes notes along the way, comparing results and talking through what changed and why. Time is set aside for questions, and participants go home with a few gifts.

The class suits newcomers who have never brewed a pour over, home brewers chasing a better cup, and experienced hands looking to sharpen their method. Nothing is required to bring, though you are welcome to work with your own gear. Since the workshop involves hot water, steam, and heated equipment, closed toe shoes and practical clothing are recommended, and the instructor should be told about any allergies, sensitivities, or physical limitations beforehand.
