Threshold Rehabilitation Services provides respite care for people who need temporary living accommodations. A respite stay is a short stay with one of Threshold's Life Sharing providers or at one of its Community Homes, and it is usually arranged well in advance. Respite is one of Threshold's services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. If it is deemed appropriate, a respite placement can eventually lead to a permanent residence.
During a stay, the services include medication administration, healthcare oversight, recreation and community integration. Respite also gives relief to Life Sharing providers in the event of an emergency or a planned excursion out of the area.
