About the class

This two-part evening workshop at GoggleWorks pairs hot glass with candle making. On the first night you work in the hot shop to shape your own glass vessel and learn how glassblowing works. On the second night you return to blend a scented soy candle, using phthalate free fragrance oils and locally sourced soy wax, in a session run with ShePaintsCo. You leave with a finished piece you designed and filled yourself.
The class is open to all skill levels, so no glass experience is needed. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring a hair tie, since both are required in the studio. Sessions meet in the Glassblowing Studio, Building 5, on the GoggleWorks campus at 201 Washington Street in Reading. Staff at the front desk can point you to the right building when you arrive.
Register online through the class page on the GoggleWorks site. Registration closes five business days before the start date, and payment is due when you sign up. Written permission is required for students under 18 enrolling in an adult course.
