This class introduces the basic skills of metalsmithing and silver jewelry making. You cut, shape and join metal using hammers, flame and other studio tools, and you leave with a custom sterling silver pendant you made yourself. It is open to all skill levels, so no prior metalwork experience is needed.
Sessions run on Tuesdays from 6 PM to 9 PM for five weeks, with the current run set for October 20 through November 17. The class meets in the Metalsmithing Studio in Building 6 at GoggleWorks Center for the Arts, 201 Washington Street in Reading. Aaron Wozniak is the instructor. The course is intended for adults.
Wear closed toe shoes, which are required in the studio. Registration is handled on the GoggleWorks class page, and sign up closes several business days before the first session, so it helps to book early.
