This intermediate class at GoggleWorks builds on sewing skills you already have. You work on making simple patterns, designing your own garments, and taking an idea through to a finished piece. Along the way you practice planning a project, cutting fabric, and sewing clothing in a style that suits you. Ariel Walker leads the class.
Sessions run Tuesday evenings from 6 to 9 PM for five weeks in the Textiles Studio, room 316, on the third floor of GoggleWorks at 201 Washington St in Reading. Sewing machines and basic tools are available in the studio. Students buy their own fabric for their projects.
The class is open to teens and adults ages 14 and up. Students under 18 enrolling in an adult course need written permission from a parent or guardian, arranged with GoggleWorks before the start date. Registration closes five business days before the first session. Sign up through the class page on the GoggleWorks website.
