This workshop at GoggleWorks walks you through making a throw pillow cover from start to finish. On the first evening you work in the Printmaking Studio, where you pick from a set of designs and screen print them onto fabric. On the second evening you move to the Textiles Studio to learn sewing machine basics and turn your printed fabric into a finished pillow cover.
The class runs Wednesdays from 6 PM to 9 PM over two sessions and is taught by Abby Ryder. It is open to all skill levels, so no printing or sewing experience is needed. Ages 14 and up may attend, and students under 18 enrolled in an adult course need written permission from a parent or guardian.
Classes meet at GoggleWorks, 201 Washington St in Reading. The first session is in Printmaking Studio 201 on the second floor and the second is in Textiles Studio 316 on the third floor. Front desk staff can point you to the right room. Registration closes five business days before the start date, and you can sign up through the GoggleWorks class page.
