About the program
A park ranger leads this introductory walking tour of Hopewell Furnace National Historic Site. The group walks through the historic buildings and the surrounding landscape while the ranger explains how the place worked as an iron-making community, who lived and worked here, and how sites like this one shaped the country.
Tours meet outside the Visitor Center and last about 45 minutes. The route climbs and descends in places and crosses uneven ground, so wear shoes you can walk in and dress for the weather. Restrooms and water fountains are at the Visitor Center. The tour may be cancelled or changed if the weather turns bad.
