Hopewell Furnace kept working through the holidays, and this event brings that season at the ironmaking village to life. Visitors can watch aluminum casting demonstrations and learn how molding and casting worked, and stop by cooking demonstrations at the historic bake oven and in the Boarding House. There is also storytime in the Cast House featuring "The Night Before Christmas."
Families can take on a Belsnickel-themed scavenger hunt around the park and earn a Junior Ranger badge. Other activities include writing a New Year's wish with a quill pen and making a holiday decoration from greenery with help from volunteer Master Gardeners. The Ironmaster's Mansion is open to explore, and more activities are offered through the day.
The event runs from late morning into the afternoon, so there is time to move between demonstrations and hands-on stations. Dress for the weather, since getting around the park means walking outdoors. No registration is mentioned; just come to the site during event hours.
