Sunset to Candlelight Yoga for the Winter Solstice
Starts Sun, Dec 20, 4:30 PM · $18

About the class
Mark the winter solstice with a gentle yoga class at Nolde Forest. The practice runs through the hour between sunset and nightfall, held in the McConnell Hall classroom in front of floor to ceiling windows that look out on the forest and the birdfeeders. You move through easy, long stretches as the sky fades and candle glow fills the room.
Dress warmly and bring a yoga mat plus a firm blanket or large towel, since the floor stays a bit chilly even in the heated classroom. Four battery operated votive candles are set at the corners of each person's mat, with more placed around the room. The class is offered as a fundraiser for the Friends of Nolde Forest.
Registration is required and space is limited, so sign up ahead of time. Walk up participants cannot be taken, and the class often fills. The program may be cancelled if winter weather turns bad. Register through the event page, and send questions to Rebekah at rsheeler@pa.gov.
