In this seasonal ceramics class, kids hand build cozy clay projects that celebrate autumn. Students make items such as leaves, leaf wreaths, mushrooms, pumpkins and other fall decorations, using simple hand building techniques for both flat tile designs and small three dimensional sculptures.
Along the way, children explore shapes, textures and patterns to capture the warm and playful feeling of the season. The class is taught by instructor Rebecca Kline and meets on Monday evenings for four weeks at the Yocum Institute for Arts Education. It is designed for children ages 5 to 12.
All materials are included, so students just need to bring their creativity. To sign up, register through the Yocum Institute for Arts Education.
