About the event
Gardeners of every experience level are welcome at the Seed Swap, held at The Nature Place in Reading. Bring up to five packets of labeled seeds less than two years old, and you will receive a chip for each packet that can be traded for something new from the tables. It is a simple way to widen your garden's variety and start planning the growing season while winter is still on the calendar.
Educational presentations from Berks County Master Gardeners and guest speakers run alongside the swapping, so there is plenty to learn whether you tend a few containers or a full vegetable plot. The morning also leaves room to talk with neighbors who share an interest in seeds, sustainability, and growing food close to home.
The Nature Place sits within Angelica Creek Park, and its trails wind through an actively restored floodplain and connect to the wider Greater Reading trail network. A wildflower plants tour along the Berks Nature trail follows the event for anyone who wants to stretch their legs before heading home.
