About the event
Reading Coffee Company opens up the bar in Birdsboro for an evening of espresso instruction led by Beverage Director John Cappelletti. The session starts with a short talk on espresso as a brewing method, then moves into a workflow review and hands-on training on the shop's equipment, so you get time pulling shots rather than just watching someone else do it.
Much of the evening focuses on tasting and dialing in, the small adjustments that turn a decent shot into a great one. There is time for questions, guides to take with you, and a few gifts to close things out. Nothing is required of you beforehand, and discard cups are on hand for anyone watching their caffeine intake.
The class suits home baristas who want professional-level guidance, anyone who received a machine as a gift and wants to use it well, and newer coffee enthusiasts still deciding whether a home setup makes sense. The workshop involves hot equipment, water, and steam, so closed-toe shoes and practical clothing are a good idea, and the instructor should know about any allergies, sensitivities, or physical limitations ahead of time.
