WhereReading Coffee Company, 316 W Main Street, Birdsboro

Reading Coffee Company hosts a hands-on pour over workshop led by Beverage Director John Cappelletti, built for anyone who wants to get more out of the coffee they make at home. Newcomers are welcome, and so are longtime brewers looking to sharpen a technique they have already spent years developing.

The evening starts with an overview of the equipment, then moves into pour over technique and the mistakes that commonly trip people up. From there the group digs into how each brewing variable shapes the cup, brewing plenty of coffee together and taking notes along the way. Time is set aside for questions, and participants go home with a few gifts.

There is nothing you need to bring, though you are welcome to carry in your own gear if you would rather practice with the setup you already use. Because the class involves hot water, steam, and equipment that gets very hot, closed-toe shoes and practical clothing are recommended, and the instructor should be told in advance about any allergies, sensitivities, or physical limitations.
