Spend a Sunday afternoon inside the working studios at GoggleWorks in downtown Reading. The studio crawl opens up the second and third floors, where resident artists make their work, and invites visitors to wander the hallways at their own pace. Paintings, prints, and other pieces line the corridors outside the studio doors, so there is plenty to take in even before you step inside.

Artists are encouraged to be in their studios from noon to 4 p.m., which makes this the best window to catch them at work, ask about their process, and see how a piece comes together. Conversations here tend to be easy and unhurried, and you may run into a neighbor or two along the way.

This is a good fit for families, first time visitors, and anyone curious about the creative side of Reading. Bring someone along or come on your own and meet people, then make time for the rest of the building while you are there.
