GoggleWorks opens the studios on its second and third floors for a free, self-guided afternoon of art. Wander the hallways, take in the work on display outside the studio doors, and step inside to see where it all gets made. Artists are encouraged to be on hand from noon until 4pm, so there is a good chance you will meet the people behind the pieces and hear how they work.
There is no set route and no schedule to keep. Move at your own pace, linger where something catches your eye, and treat the whole floor plan as one long gallery. It is an easy way to spend part of a Sunday in downtown Reading, and an easy way to bump into neighbors while you are at it.
Bring family, bring a friend, or come on your own and strike up a conversation. The Studio Artists pages on the GoggleWorks website are a good place to look ahead at who works in the building.
