Veterans Day Ceremony at City Park

The Combined Veterans Council of Berks County gathers in Veterans Grove at City Park for a Veterans Day ceremony honoring those who have served. The program brings color and honor guards, wreath placements, and a moment for the community to stand together in the heart of Reading.
This year's guest speaker is Charles J. Adams III, a U.S. Navy veteran whose service included two years aboard the aircraft carrier USS Essex as a Radarman in the Combat Information Center, with deployments across the Mediterranean, the North Sea, the North Atlantic, the Arctic, and the Caribbean, bracketed by time in the Naval Reserve. Adams is also a familiar Berks name as a longtime Reading Eagle writer on travel and local legends and a morning radio personality on WEEU.
