Counseling and Psychiatric Care at Berks Counseling Center in Reading
Berks Counseling Center provides mental health treatment at 645 Penn Street, 2nd Floor, Reading: outpatient and intensive outpatient counseling, case management and other recovery supports, plus psychiatric evaluation and medication support. Treatment uses evidence-based methods including motivational interviewing, DBT, CBT, Illness Management and Recovery and WRAP practices.
You can receive individual therapy, group therapy or both. Both are used in treating mental health and substance use disorders. A treatment team works with you to develop an individualized clinical care plan designed for you.
For psychiatric care, the center has board-certified child and adult psychiatrists, tele-psychiatrists, Certified Registered Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants who evaluate you and, if needed, provide medication support. The psychiatric providers work closely with the clinical team. All of the behavioral health services are trauma-informed, recovery-driven and fully integrated within a framework supporting physical health and wellness.
Berks Counseling Center is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic and PA Integrated Community Wellness Center. It accepts referrals and admissions for services without regard to race, sex, color, national origin (including limited English proficiency), ancestry, religious creed, disability, or age. Services are available at the main clinic, at satellite locations, in home, in community and virtually, and sessions are offered in person or through video or phone.
