Case Management for Recovery, Mothers and Teen Parents at Berks Counseling Center
Berks Counseling Center has a team of case managers who help clients sustain their recovery and get access to medical, social, legal, educational and other services and supports. Case managers act as lead advocates, helping people navigate the complex array of community services.
Within case management, the center offers programs specifically geared toward women and women with children struggling with mental health and substance use disorders.
- Maternal Intervention and Supportive Services (MISS) provides specialized community-based care management and parenting support for mothers with substance use disorders. This may include assistance with transportation and/or childcare for certain programs.
- Pregnant & Parenting Teens provides support, education and case management for young and expectant mothers. Services include securing prenatal or pediatric care, completing educational goals, connecting to community resources and promoting healthy lifestyles. Special support is also offered for teen fathers as part of this program.
- The nutrition team works with parents and families on the benefits of healthy eating, nutrition, smart shopping and budgeting for healthy food choices.
Berks Counseling Center is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic and PA Integrated Community Wellness Center, and targeted case management is one of its nine core services.
