NAMI Connection Support Group for Veterans in Wyomissing
NAMI Berks County PA runs a NAMI Connection peer recovery support group for veterans who live with mental health conditions. It is a place to talk with other veterans who understand, and it is led by trained veteran facilitators who are living in recovery themselves.
The group is for veterans age 18 and over who experience mental health conditions. Each meeting lasts 90 minutes and offers respect, understanding, encouragement and hope, with the aim of connecting, encouraging and supporting veterans who take part.
The group meets in person the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays, 6:00pm to 7:30pm, at the Etchberger Veterans Center, 20 Commerce Drive, Wyomissing, PA 19610.
There is no charge. NAMI Connection groups are free, as are all NAMI programs. An RSVP is not required. If you are interested in attending or have questions, call 610-685-3000.
Every NAMI support group is led by two NAMI-trained facilitators who are either family members or individuals in recovery themselves, and the same group guidelines and principles of support apply at each meeting.
NAMI Berks County also runs other support groups, including ones for family members and separate NAMI Connection groups in Reading and Wyomissing, which meet on their own days.
