Precious metal clay handles like clay but fires into fine silver. In this class at GoggleWorks, you work with the material from start to finish: shaping it, adding texture, and firing it to make jewelry and small decorative objects. You go home with finished silver pieces and a working sense of how to keep using the medium on your own.
The class is for adults and welcomes all skill levels, so no prior metals experience is needed. Sessions run Sundays from 9 AM to 12 PM across four meetings, with a run from November 8 to November 29, 2026. Class meets in the Metalsmithing Studio in Building 6 on the GoggleWorks campus at 201 Washington St in Reading. Minna Aaparyti is the instructor.
Wear closed-toe shoes, which are required in the studio. Register through the class page at goggleworks.org. GoggleWorks closes registration five business days before a class begins, and the front desk can point you to the right studio when you arrive. Scholarships are available through GoggleWorks, and students under 18 in an adult course need written permission.
