Ballroom dance takes over the Santander Performing Arts Center stage when Burn the Floor brings Maks & Peta Live to downtown Reading. The production is headlined by Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd, two widely celebrated figures in ballroom and Latin dance, both familiar to television audiences from Dancing with the Stars.
They are joined by a cast of Burn the Floor dancers and a live band, in a show built on the company's long track record of turning competitive ballroom into full theatrical spectacle. Expect fast footwork, big lifts, and a program that moves between the sweep of ballroom standards and the heat of Latin styles, with room for the waltz and foxtrot alongside the tango, paso doble, cha cha, samba, rumba, and jive.
Doors open at 4:00 PM, so there is time to settle in before the 5:00 PM start. It makes an easy Sunday evening out for dance fans, couples, and families looking for something with plenty of energy on stage.
