Eagle Day
November 7, 2026 · 10:00 AM · Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, 1700 Hawk Mountain Rd, Kempton · An admission ticket, membership card, or admission sticker is required to enter the amphitheater. The outdoor amphitheater is ADA accessible.

About the event
Hawk Mountain Sanctuary turns its attention to eagles for the day, with programs at the outdoor amphitheater that bring visitors close to a bald eagle and a golden eagle. Both birds are non releasable and live at the sanctuary as part of its raptor education program, held under permit from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Pennsylvania Game Commission. The hour long presentations look at why apex predators matter to the health of an ecosystem and what challenges these birds encounter in the wild.
From 10 AM to 3 PM, the Eagle Discovery Station in the Information Pavilion gives families a chance to dig deeper at their own pace. Topics include eagle migration, how to tell species apart in flight, nesting behavior, and feeding habits, along with the recovery of bald eagle populations and what that story suggests about the choices communities make today.
This program draws a good crowd, so arriving early is the best way to find a seat. There is ample standing room for those who come later, and the amphitheater is ADA accessible. The eagle programs take the place of Raptors up Close for the day.
