About the event
The Friends of Chamber Music of Reading presents Emerging Talent, an evening given over to four student ensembles who are early in their playing careers. Performing is Berks Camerata, a newly formed chamber ensemble made up of Berks County students, along with three prize winning groups from the Pennsylvania Music Teachers Association Keystone Chamber Music Competition: Sforzando Trio of Conestoga High School, Trío Caribe of Kutztown University, and the Edelstein String Quintet of Penn State University.
The setting suits the music. The WCR Center for the Arts sits in downtown Reading and offers an intimate listening room feel, with warm acoustics and seating close to the stage, which lets small ensembles come through clearly.
A reception follows the performance, giving listeners a chance to meet the musicians and mark what they have accomplished. Admission is free, and parking is available in the Trinity Lutheran lot.
