Artists of all levels are invited to spend a Saturday drawing West Reading from the sidewalk up. The Reading Sketch Crawl returns on October 25, an all day urban sketching event set across the borough and running into the late afternoon. Participants work on location, filling pages with storefronts, street corners, passersby, and whatever else catches the eye along the way.
A sketch crawl is a loose, social format: a group of people with sketchbooks moves through a location together, stopping to sketch at several spots over a few hours, and finishing with a show and tell where everyone shares their work. It rewards curiosity more than technique, which makes it a comfortable entry point for newer sketchers and a good excuse for experienced ones to compare approaches.
The event is presented by the Reading Drawing Guild with support from Faye & Co. Sketcher registration is open, along with volunteer sign ups and sponsorship opportunities, and spots are limited. Full details are available at fayeand.co.
