About the event
The Reading Public Museum sets aside dedicated sensory-inclusive hours for guests and caretakers who prefer a quieter way to explore the galleries. Lights, sound, and crowd levels are kept gentle so visitors can move through the collections at their own pace and linger wherever something catches their interest.
The Museum designs these hours around the idea that art, history, and science should be reachable for guests of all ages and abilities. Families who register ahead receive a pre-visit packet they can go through together beforehand, which helps set expectations and makes the visit feel familiar before anyone walks through the door.
Registration is suggested rather than required, and the education department can also arrange private sensory hours for small groups with advance notice. The Museum sits at 500 Museum Road in Reading, with the Neag Planetarium and the Arboretum grounds on the same campus.
Hosted by Reading Public Museum on BerksConnect.
