About the event
JCWK Dance Lab teams up with Alvernia University for an evening of dance classes built for grown-ups, held on the university's Reading campus. The series welcomes studio teachers looking to refresh their practice, college students, and anyone who has never set foot in a dance studio and is curious what it feels like. Classes come in different levels and time slots, so you can pick what suits your experience.
The teaching roster covers a wide range of styles across the series, including beginning jazz and intermediate contemporary, beginning modern and floor work, beginning ballet, and flamenco. Instructors are professional dancers and educators who lead with an emphasis on joy and connection rather than perfection.
JCWK Dance Lab is led by Jessica Warchal-King, an educator who founded the Greater Reading Area Dance Exchange and builds dance programs for a broad mix of participants and styles, from ballet and modern to contemporary and jazz. Comfortable clothes you can move in are all you need to bring.
