Thanksgiving in downtown Reading comes with a full holiday spread this year at the DoubleTree by Hilton. The hotel's ballroom hosts a chef-curated buffet built around the classics, with carved turkey and giblet gravy, traditional bread stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry-glazed yams, buttered corn, garlic-charred green beans, rice pilaf, and smoked cheddar mac and cheese. A carving board turns out New York strip with bordelaise and roasted turkey breast with pan gravy, and roasted salmon with lemon butter herb sauce rounds out the entrees.
There is plenty to explore beyond the turkey. Butternut squash bisque with toasted pepitas and Italian wedding soup start things off alongside artisan rolls, while the cold table brings a cheese board, garden field greens with a choice of dressings, and a walnut, blue cheese, and cranberry pasta salad. A frittata station offers country harvest, smoked salmon and shrimp, and garden vegetable options. Dessert covers pumpkin and pecan pie, mini cheesecakes, mango mousse shooters, and an assortment of small sweets.
