About the event
The West Reading Farmers' Market sets up at the West Reading Park & Pavilion on Sycamore Road, opening at 10:00 AM. It runs as a producer-only market, which means every vendor is a small-scale farmer or food business from within 50 miles of the borough, and each item on the tables is grown, raised, or made by the people selling it.
Shoppers will find seasonal vegetables and fruits, organic breads, artisan pastries and cookies, pastured meats, poultry and eggs, cheeses, raw local honey, hand-made pasta and ravioli, olive oil, locally roasted coffee and blended teas, fresh cut flowers, herbal tinctures and body products, and locally fermented cider and beer. Live music and free samples are part of the morning, and the market doubles as a gathering place for neighbors who like knowing where their food comes from.
This date lands on the second Sunday of the month, when local artisan crafters join the regular lineup of growers and makers. The market goes on rain or shine. SNAP is accepted, and the vegetable and mushroom growers accept Farmers' Market Nutrition Program checks.
Hosted by West Reading Borough on BerksConnect.
