About the event
The West Reading Farmers' Market brings together growers and food makers from within about 50 miles of the borough. It runs on a producer-only model, meaning every vendor is a small-scale farmer or food business selling what they grow, raise, or make by hand.
Expect seasonal vegetables and fruit, pastured meats, poultry, and eggs, cheeses, raw local honey, artisan pastries, cookies, and organic breads, hand-made pasta and ravioli, olive oil, locally roasted coffee and blended teas, fresh cut flowers, herbal tinctures and body products, and locally fermented cider and beer. Live music and free samples are part of the regular mix, and vendors are on hand to talk about how their food was produced.
The market sets up rain or shine and is built to be a gathering place as much as a place to shop, so there is time to browse, ask questions, and catch up with neighbors. SNAP is accepted, and vegetable and mushroom growers accept Farmers' Market Nutrition Program checks.
Hosted by West Reading Borough on BerksConnect.
