About the event
The West Reading Farmers' Market brings together growers and food makers from within fifty miles of the borough, with every vendor hand picked as a small scale farmer or local food business. It is a producer only market, which means what you find on the tables was grown, raised, or made by the people selling it.
Expect seasonal vegetables and fruit, pastured meats, poultry and eggs, cheeses, raw local honey, organic breads, artisan pastries and cookies, hand made pasta and ravioli, olive oil, locally roasted coffee and blended teas, cut flowers, herbal tinctures and body products, and locally fermented cider and beer. Live music and free samples are part of the regular rhythm, and shoppers are welcome to ask vendors how their food is grown and made.
The market runs rain or shine and serves as a gathering place as much as a place to shop. SNAP is accepted, and vegetable and mushroom growers accept Farmers' Market Nutrition Program checks.
Hosted by West Reading Borough on BerksConnect.
