Plan the day
Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library is Henry Francis du Pont's former estate in Winterthur, DE: a house museum of American decorative arts, a 1,000-acre naturalistic garden and a research library.
Winterthur describes its holdings as the most significant collection of American decorative arts in the world, and one ticket covers two consecutive days: a self-guided look at the fourth and fifth floors, the garden and walking trails, the Enchanted Woods children's garden and the exhibitions. From November 21 the house dresses for Yuletide, with house tours until 8 PM on select Fridays and Saturdays starting November 27.
