Wyomissing's neighborhoods turn festive for the BOO'ing Halloween House Decorating Contest, a borough-wide celebration organized by Wyomissing Borough Parks and Recreation. Residents decorate their homes for the season, and the displays become a month-long attraction for anyone driving or walking the streets.
The contest opens October 1 and continues through October 27, so there is plenty of time to plan a display or to take an evening stroll and see what the neighbors have put together. Pumpkins, cobwebs, glowing porches, and yard scenes of every scale tend to appear as the weeks go on.
