Friday evenings at Jim Dietrich Park belong to live music, with the stage set up in the front yard of the farmhouse and the river behind the band. Music starts at 6 p.m. and runs into the evening with a short intermission, so pack a lawn chair and settle in along the lawn.
The season's lineup brings Perfect Strangers, 3 Below, the Chris Wolf Band, and SlothLoveChunk, a Leesport based group known around the area for its take on 1980s hits. Food vendors rotate from concert to concert, and the POP truck mobile bar is on site with beer and mixed drinks for adults. Beverages are available at the park, so leave outside drinks at home.
Local Scouts help with parking and sell desserts to raise money for their activities, which makes a visit easy for families arriving with kids in tow. Concerts are held outdoors and are called off in inclement weather.
