Anime and Manga Late Night Drawing Class
Starts Fri, Nov 13, 8:00 PM · $60 ($50 members) · Ages 9 to 16

About the course

Anime and manga are two popular forms of Japanese art that share a similar look. Anime usually appears in TV shows and movies, while manga is found in comic books and graphic novels. Both use a distinct drawing style that gives artists room to build their own creative techniques.
Students design an anime or manga character of their own, or draw a favorite one. The group practices action poses and drawing techniques, and each student gets personal guidance along the way. Projects also include a glass painting activity using clear plastic and paint. Students who prefer may bring their own item to paint instead.
This class meets on Friday evenings at the Yocum Institute for Arts Education and is open to young artists in the listed age range. See the schedule panel for session dates, and register through the Yocum Institute.
