About the class
This visual art class at the Yocum Institute for Arts Education invites young artists to explore the season of thankfulness. Taking inspiration from the book The Giving Tree, students talk about kindness, generosity and gratitude, then put those ideas into their artwork.
Each student designs a festive wreath or tree. Storytelling, discussion and hands-on artmaking give children a chance to reflect on what they are thankful for, and everyone takes home a keepsake to keep.
The class is built for children ages 7 to 12 and meets on Saturday mornings. Registration is handled by the Yocum Institute, and tuition is paid when you sign up.
