In Jewelry Makers, young artists shape their own beads from polymer clay and turn them into earrings, necklaces, pendants and other pieces of jewelry. The finished work makes a good holiday gift. Students also decorate boxes to hold what they make, so the gift and its wrapping both come from their own hands.
The class is led by instructor Shawna Hansberry and meets on Wednesday evenings for one hour. It is built for children and teens in the stated age range, and no previous jewelry making experience is mentioned as a requirement. Students take home the jewelry and boxes they create.
