Students make their own beads out of polymer clay, then turn them into earrings, necklaces, pendants and other pieces of jewelry. The finished pieces make good holiday gifts. The group also decorates boxes to hold the jewelry for gift giving.
The class meets Wednesday evenings for four weeks and runs for one hour. It is open to ages 7 to 14. Shawna Hansberry teaches the class.
Yocum Institute for Arts Education offers the class as part of its visual art program. Registration is handled through the Yocum Institute, and members pay a lower rate.
