About the workshop
Young performers put on Seussical Kids, the musical that travels from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus. The story follows Horton the Elephant as he finds a speck of dust holding the tiny Whos, including a young Who named Jojo. While Horton protects the Whos from doubters, he also cares for an egg abandoned by Mayzie La Bird, and the show celebrates friendship, loyalty, family, and community.
This is a tuition-based workshop production for students ages 7 to 14. Participants attend two rehearsals each week and learn the fundamentals of acting, stage movement, and characterization. Along the way they build confidence, develop performance skills, and find out what goes into bringing a full musical to the stage. The workshop is led by Andrea Kennedy Hart with the Yocum theater faculty, and tuition includes a T-shirt.
The workshop ends with public performances of the show. Register through the Yocum Institute for Arts Education.
