This seasonal ceramics class has kids making fall clay art built around turkeys and pumpkins. Students hand-build a variety of projects, including turkeys and pumpkins as flat tiles and as small three dimensional sculptures.
The work uses simple hand building techniques suited to young makers, so students shape, build and decorate each piece with their own details and personality. The focus is on creativity, texture and having fun with the fall season. Rebecca Kline teaches the class.
It meets Monday evenings at the Yocum Institute for Arts Education and is set up for ages 5 to 12. Sign up through the registration link on the Yocum Institute website, and expect clay work, so dress your child in clothes that can get messy.
