About the event
JCWK Dance Lab and Alvernia University present an evening of the Summer Dance Series for Adults at Alvernia's Reading campus on December 22 at 6:00 PM. The series runs nine weeks and welcomes studio teachers, college students, and anyone curious about trying dance for the first time, with classes offered at different levels and times so participants can find a fit.
The teaching roster spans several styles across the series. Jessica Warchal-King leads Beginning Jazz, Beginning Modern, and shares Beginning Ballet with Sarena Gable, while Arielle Ridley teaches Intermediate Contemporary, Megan Zalek covers Floor Work, and Amanda Pena brings Flamenco. Each class is led by professional dancers and educators who focus on the joy and connection that comes with moving together.
JCWK Dance Lab is an ongoing research project combining education, physical dance practice, and performance, exploring how dance can create joy, connection, and wellness through kinesthetic stories. The organization also runs the Greater Reading Area Dance Exchange, which gathers information about dance opportunities for adults in Berks County and nearby communities. Details on the full schedule are posted at jcwkdancelab.org/summerseries.
