About the event
JCWK Dance Lab teams up with Alvernia University for a nine-week dance series built for adults, whether you teach at a studio, dance in college, or have never set foot in a class before. Sessions offer different levels and times, and the instructors are working dancers and educators who focus on the joy and connection that comes from moving together.
The series moves through a wide range of styles. One stretch covers Beginning Jazz with Jessica Warchal-King and Intermediate Contemporary with Arielle Ridley. Another pairs Beginning Modern with Warchal-King alongside Floor Work with Megan Zalek. A third brings Beginning Ballet with Sarena Gable and Warchal-King together with Flamenco taught by Amanda Pena.
Warchal-King founded JCWK Dance Lab and serves as a Lecturer and Artist in Residence in Dance at Alvernia University, and the company has long roots in the area, having launched The Greater Reading Area Dance Exchange in 2020 to share dance opportunities for adults in Berks County and nearby communities. Comfortable clothes you can move in are all you need to get started.
