About the class
This East Coast Karate class at the Yocum Institute for Arts Education is for current students ages 6 through 12 who have reached orange, blue, green or green stripe belt. Students keep building the skills for their level and meet on Thursdays.
Sparring equipment is required. It is purchased through the karate department and billed to the parent account on file. Beginning weapons training may also be part of class at this level. Loaner weapons are available, and families are encouraged to buy a student's own weapons through the department.
Because the class is for students already training in the program, new families should contact the Yocum Institute about placement before registering. Registration is handled through the Institute, which is located on Penn Avenue in West Lawn.
