About the event
Reading Community Players brings Sarah Tuft's docu-play 110 Stories to Friedens UCC Church in Oley. The piece moves from the first crash at the Towers to a last goodbye at Ground Zero, told through the accounts of eyewitnesses, survivors, and recovery workers, among them a photojournalist, a mother, an ironworker, a nurse, and a homeless man who saved lives that day.
The script is drawn from interviews and first-person testimony, and it unfolds as a series of short, intimate monologues and ensemble scenes that weave together the voices of firefighters, nurses, volunteers, journalists, and everyday New Yorkers. Moments of fear sit alongside humor and unexpected heroism. Tony Quinones directs a small ensemble, with each performer taking on several roles across the evening.
The production is a fundraiser for the Berks County Firemen's Association Training Committee, making it an evening of remembrance that also supports local firefighters. Doors open on a gathering meant as much for community as for reflection.
